Released in 2007, 'Control' is a biopic about the life of Ian Curtis, from his teenage years, right up to his tragic death. The film was directed by Anton Corbijn, a Dutch photographer, film director, and movie director, who originally moved to London in 1979 influenced by Joy Division themselves, photographing the band on numerous occasions, also directing the music video for "Atmosphere" (1988). Corbijn first met the band within his first month in London, convincing them to meet up with him at a tube station to shoot - though the band liked the photos, the magazines passed them up, that is until after the death of Ian Curtis, where the the image eventually came to cover an NME magazine (1980).

Just over 20 years ago Bloc party released their inaugural album ‘silent alarm’ – a definitive album that feels just like England in 2005, yet undoubtably still holds up today, while many bands of that time period couldn’t manage quite the same. This is a phenomenal album for me, one of if not the best from the British bands of the 00s. It’s poignant, it’s galvanic, It’s riveting, and despite nice sales & reviews, it still feels underrated. Here we’ve scanned the inside contents of the original CD booklet, which features some “rare” images.

For Vogue Paris’ April 2008 issue, Hedi Slimane photographs Sasha Pivovarova, who he later casted & photographed 5 years later for his Saint Laurent Resort 2014 collection. At the time of this vogue release, Slimane had been away from the Dior house for around 9 months, at this point focusing primarily on photography, presumably as he is now post Celine.

Howard Devoto, former frontman of 'Buzzcocks', and at the time frontman of Post-Punk band 'Magazine', features on the cover of NME magazine with a double page feature inside.
